I move to introduce a bill for an act to amend the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 to provide that religious educational institutions cannot discriminate against students based on sexual orientation or gender identity by using standards of dress and behaviour in schools, to limit discrimination against LGBTIQA students on the basis of religious belief to the time of admission at a religious educational institution and for other purposes, and I move:

That the bill be now read a first time.

Motion agreed to.

Read first time.

Dr RATNAM: I move:

That the second reading be made an order for the next day of meeting.

Motion agreed to.
